Choosing an American Standard system for your Tampa home
A few plain-language steps to help you compare options before you replace your system.
1. Start with a sizing assessment
A bigger system isn't automatically better. The right size depends on your home: square footage, insulation, windows, sun exposure and ductwork. Ask for a load assessment of your home rather than a size based only on your old unit.
2. Compare an AC with a heat pump
A central air conditioner cools and pairs with a furnace or air handler for heat. A heat pump cools in summer and also provides heat on cooler nights, in one outdoor unit. Which fits best depends on your home and how you use it — ask to see both options.
3. Make sure the system is matched
The outdoor and indoor equipment are designed to work together. Ask that your estimate lists the specific outdoor unit, indoor coil or air handler, and thermostat as one matched system.
4. Get it in writing
Ask for a written estimate that names the American Standard equipment, the work included, and any offers that apply, so you can compare clearly and decide without pressure.
